Attendance that calculates itself
Set your rules once. LanaTime 7.5 turns every punch into worked hours, overtime and exceptions — across shifts, departments and branches — and routes anything unusual for approval.

Company-wide rules, department-level exceptions
Global rules apply to the whole company; local rules let individual departments work differently. Each rule defines how check-in, check-out and overtime are evaluated.
Check-in rule
Base the check-in time on the employee's schedule or on their first check-in of the day.
Check-out rule
Base the check-out time on the schedule or on the last check-out of the day.
Overtime rule
Choose Auto OT to calculate overtime automatically, or Not OT where overtime shouldn't count.
| Situation | Configurable result |
|---|---|
| No check-in record | Count as Late or Absent |
| No check-out record | Count as Early leave or Absent |
| Punches without a scheduled shift | Calculated against the default flexible shift and classified as overtime (for example on days off or holidays) |
Flexible shifts, night shifts and auto shift
Build timetables, combine them into shifts and assign schedules to many employees at once.
- Timetables & shifts — define working periods once and reuse them across departments
- Cross-day timing — night shifts that start one day and end the next are calculated correctly
- Flexible shifts — for staff without fixed hours, work time is calculated from paired punches
- Auto shift — employees without an assigned schedule are evaluated against a default flexible shift
- Temporary schedules — set start and end dates for short-term changes

Exceptions reach the right person, fast
When something doesn't add up — a missed punch, a late arrival, a leave request — LanaTime routes it through your approval chain and keeps people informed by email.
Multi-level approvals
Leave and attendance corrections pass through one or more approval levels — for example line manager, then HR.
Automatic email alerts
Email notifications for attendance exceptions and for each step of a multi-level approval.
Employee corrections
Employees submit attendance correction requests from self-service instead of emailing HR.

LanaTime runs in the browser. Administrators can manage terminals and attendance for every location remotely — no desktop software to install on each PC.
